If you need a reason to vote that's a little closer to home, ie., the Eighth Suffolk District, consider this:

Representative Walz sent me a letter in July saying "I anticipate that local organizations will organize debates this fall, and I look forward to participating in them with you."

Unfortunately, I believed her. All of the organizations we have talk to, The Back Bay Association, Beacon Hill Civic Association, West End Civic Association have told us she has either told them she is not interested in debating or hasn't returned their phone calls.

She closed the letter by saying "Remaining accountable to local voters is my sole concern."

Really? By ducking debates? If she won't compete in the arena of ideas does she really deserve to "represent" you?

You can read the whole story HERE.

Brad-- Not sure who you spoke to at the Beacon Hill Civic Association, but your comment is not true. We're in the process of setting up a candidate event, and Rep. Walz has been responsive. I believe you have been responsive as well-- at least I hope so!
